A joint venture between two very large global chemical organizations focused on becoming a global leader in bio-based Ethylene Glycol and bio-based Propylene Glycol is looking to fill a critical Market Development Representative position based in Houston.  This is a pure market development role covering the USA and potentially Europe.  It’s an exciting role and a ground floor opportunity with a newly formed JV with great financial and technical support.  Overnight travel is going to be ~50%.

Responsibilities: This is a role selling the future 2029 production of bio-based Ethylene Glycol and bio-based Propylene Glycol.  The products will be made from sustainable resources.  Targeted end-use markets are plastic film packaging, synthetic fibers, apparel, and any large manufacturers interested in sustainability.  This is conceptual selling, selling the idea of buying raw materials derived from 100% renewable resources. Call on large potential end-users and pursue the signing of Off-Take Agreements and Plant Reservations when production begins in 2029.  Travel overnight as needed.

Requirements: 5+ years of chemical sales or business/market development experience, preferably of value-added specialties. A bachelor’s degree is required, chemistry or related science or business is preferred.  Must be highly motivated and driven. This is a new JV with new ideas and a value proposition for all companies interested in sustainability. This position is suited for someone who believes in the company mission and is driven to develop the market. Must be up for the challenge and have passion.

Compensation: Base: $120,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience. Plus, annual bonus of ~$40K.  Excellent company benefits.  Ground floor career opportunity when production begins in 2029.
